About Wolfgang Grimmer: He first appears in Episode 40 of the anime, and Chapter 78 of the manga. In the beginning, we see him as a spy-turned-international journalist hunting for the truth behind the inhumane practices that occurred in the East German orphanages such as Kinderheim 411. On a train out of Munich, he meets everyone's favorite anti-hero Kenzo Tenma, and in between mysteriously mechanical smiles and cryptic anecdotes about his past, he proves to be perhaps the most vigilant ally yet in Tenma's journey. Grimmer is one of the most beloved recurring characters in 'Monster', and up until the very end of the series he continues to surprise and endear himself.

The name of the fanlisting, Magnificent, is derived from Grimmer's alter-ego, The Magnificent Steiner. But I won't spoil that one for you just yet...
